Overview

If you're a real country music fan, you would love visiting the heart of country music for the Country Music Television awards show. The show itself is flat out awesome, and after the show, you'll have all the downtown strip you can handle. The parties flow out into the street.

Thanks to the success of Nashville's hockey team The Predators, the CMT Awards has been moved to the Music City Center this year. It's broadcast on CMT, and voting for the awards is at the CMT website, CMT.com. There's going to be plenty of music like always, including a tribute to Gregg Allman, who passed away recently.

Keith Urban is a perennial fan favorite. He has been nominated three times this year including Video of the Year for “Blue Ain’t Your Color,” Male Video of the Year for “Blue Ain’t Your Color” and Collaborative Video of the Year for “The Fighter” featuring Carrie Underwood.

Luke Bryan also garnered three nominations. “Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day” is in the running for Video of the Year and Male Video of the Year. He's also up for CMT Performance of the Year for “Want to Want Me” (from CMT Crossroads) with Jason Derulo.

Thomas Rhett's “Star of the Show” got two nominations for Video of the Year and Male Video of the Year. He also was chosen for the CMT Performance of the Year for “Close” (from CMT Crossroads) with Nick Jonas featuring Danielle Bradbery.

Kelsea Ballerini received two nominations for her video "Peter Pan." They are Video of the Year and Female Video of the Year. She's also up for the CMT Performance of the Year for a Tribute to Shania Twain (from CMT Artists of the Year) with Meghan Trainor and Jill Scott.

Florida Georgia Line is up for multiple awards too. They received nods for Video of the Year for “H.O.L.Y,” Duo Video of the Year for “H.O.L.Y” and Collaborative Video of the Year for “May We All” featuring Tim McGraw.

Miranda Lambert is once again a contender in two categories. Her video "Vice" has qualified for Video of the Year and Female Video of the Year.
