Ariana Grande and DANCE Will Light Up the 2016 Radio Disney Awards In April

2016 Radio Disney AwardsAre you ready for music’s biggest family event of the year, The Radio Disney Awards (RDMA)? If you’ve been waiting impatiently, the date will soon be upon us. The red carpet event is going down on April 30 at the Microsoft Theater inLos Angeles, so you don’t have long to wait.

News about the show is breaking day by day. Ariana Grande and DNCE are scheduled to perform live on the show. Phil Guerini, vice president, Music Strategy, Disney Channels Worldwide and general manager, Radio Disney Networks, said that RDMA is delighted to showcase Ariana’s talent again. Similarly, we can’t wait for DNCE to take the stage–they have quickly become Radio Disney fan favorites.”

Grande, who has already won four ARDYs is once again nominated in the “Move!–Best Song To Dance To” category for her song “Focus.” She most recently performed at the 2014 RDMA when she did her song “Problem.” Republic Records band DNCE, comprised of band members Joe Jonas, Jack Lawless, Cole Whittle and JinJoo are first-time RDMA nominees in three categories including “The Freshest – Best New Artist” and “That’s My Jam – Best Anthem” for their platinum selling debut single “Cake By The Ocean.”

Katherine McNamara and Emeraude Toubia of Freeform’s “Shadowhunters” have been named as the presenters. You certainly know them from Freeform’s “Shadowhunters” where they play Clary Fray and Isabelle Lightwood, respectively. The hit show is based on the mega-popular New York Times bestselling book series “The Mortal Instruments,” which follows teen Clary Fray, a human-angel hybrid who hunts demons.

The show will be taped and broadcast on May 1, so if you’re a superfan, you know you have to be there for the live show, so you can see it all in person. The electricity at the RDMA is crazy, like a giant Van der Graaf generator. Of course, it all is going down in electrifying Los Angeles, the home of the original Disneylandand all things Disney.
