In With the In-Crowd at the 2014 Radio Disney Music Awards

October 29, 2015

If the Disney Channel is your favorite TV destination for shows like "Phineas and Ferb," "Gravity Falls" and "Dog with a Blog" and your live stream is tuned to Radio Disney to hear your favorite songs from Austin Mahone, R5 and Zendaya, then the RDMAs are the award show for you! Even if that's not you, you probably know someone or became a parent to someone like this right around the new millennium.  The Radio Disney Music Awards might be a definitive tween and teen event, but it's held at a very grown-up venue, the Nokia Theatre at L.A. Live, which is like the Taj Mahal for award shows. The RDMAs have been going strong since 2002. This year's Radio Disney bash is taking place on April 26, 2014, and music award tickets for seats in the first 20 rows of the orchestra section are still ... Continue Reading...

Performers Announced for 2014 Radio Disney Music Awards

October 29, 2015

The Radio Disney Music Awards aren’t like other award shows. There is no academy sitting high on Mount Olympus voting anonymously for the winners. The voting isn’t controlled by adults only. That’s not the spirit of this award show. The Radio Disney Music Awards are voted for by the kids, teens and families who love the music and love to vote for their favorite performers. Disney has always been aimed at entertaining families, whether you’re talking about their movies, television programming or radio shows.  The lineup for the 2014 Radio Disney Music Awards has just been announced, and it’s going to please all the fans of Radio Disney. The show is going down on April 26, and for your dining and dancing pleasure, VIP Concierge has VIP tickets for the show,... Continue Reading...

October 29, 2015

And, of course, VIP Concierge has tickets to the show and the after-parties afterwards. It’s all going down on April 6 on CBS, and it’s happening in prime time, which means you can see it before you go to bed and not wait for the morning shows to see the results, because you don’t want to miss this one.  Talk about power-packed. There ain’t no scrubs in this bunch. Every performer that has been announced is a 2014 ACM Award nominee, including Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, George Strait, Keith Urban and the Band Perry. Whew. That’s enough to get my horse sweating, if I had a horse, whic... Continue Reading...

The Best Kept Secret about the Oscar® Awards

October 29, 2015

Pssst. Want to know one of the best kept secrets in Hollywood? No, it’s not how to get a private screening of “Wolf of Wall Street” with Martin Scorcese. In fact, it has nothing to do with wolves. And it’s definitely not about the short skating program at the Sochi Olympics. It’s much closer to home.  The best kept secret in Hollywood has to do with the little gold man himself, Sir Oscar®. Come March 2, there will be nobody more in demand than the impish gold statue. Many, many actors, producers, directors and support personnel are waiting with baited breath—so much so that they may hyperventilate. But that’s not the secret we’re talking about.  Did you know that there are many parties that are expressly designed for the Oscar A... Continue Reading...

Great Selection of After-Parties at the Academy Awards®

October 29, 2015

For those who like to pick and choose or are very selective about whom they party with, the Academy Awards has got it going on. Oscar® after-parties aren’t just parties—they are traditions hosted by high profile movers and shakers in the entertainment industry. They’re also some of the most widely anticipated bashes Hollywood sees every year. Because they’re so popular, tickets go fast, so a word to the wise should be sufficient. Get your tickets early, or you might be disappointed when they’re all sold out.  Perhaps the most prominent shindig is Elton John’s Oscar® Viewing Dinner and After-Party at the West Hollywood Park. It’s packed full of celebrities who have nothing better to do than hang out with other celebrities. Some movie st... Continue Reading...

Teen Choice 2013 is By, of and For the Teens

October 29, 2015

The Teen Choice Awards are different from other awards shows because the fans themselves vote for the winners. Not only that, they can vote more than once-every day if they so desire. Since only those between 13 and 19 years old can vote, the Teen Choice Awards actually represent the opinions of concerned teenagers across the nation.  This year's show is going down live on August 11 at the Gibson Amphitheater in hot and bothered Los Angeles. It will be broadcast on Fox from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m., but that's a delayed tape feed, and that doesn't count. If you want to see the show in its entirety, you need to be sitting there in the middle of it all. That's the only way to really get the full picture.  Recently, the first wave of nominees was announced. The list is chock full of the ... Continue Reading...

ESPY Awards to Honor Robin Roberts

October 29, 2015

Everybody loves a winner, especially when they fought against tremendous odds. That's why ESPN chose ABC's "Good Morning America" broadcaster Robin Roberts as the recipient of the 2013 ESPY Arthur Ashe Courage Award. Roberts will be one of the best and brightest who has received this honor. Former recipients have included legends like University of Tennessee Lady Vols coach Pat Summitt, North Carolina State's basketball coach Jim Valvano, tennis matriarch Billie Jean King, plus heavyweight boxer and ambassador of good will Muhammad Ali.  The award honors those whose contributions to the world of sports reach into the mainstream. Roberts was one of the first female sports anchors on ESPN in the 1990s. She broke the glass ceiling and opened the door for other women to follow in her foot... Continue Reading...

The Black Entertainment Awards Have Grown Up

October 29, 2015

The BET has announced that comedian and actor Chris Tucker will be hosting this year's BET Awards on June 30, live from the Nokia Theater in the City of Angels, Los Angeles. This is another big feather for Tucker's hat, coming right on the heels of his acclaimed supporting performance in "Silver Linings Playbook." Bradley Cooper, star of "The Hangover" series, and Jennifer Lawrence, best known for "The Hunger Games," were the stars of the film, which garnered an Oscar® nomination. Tucker's previous claim to fame was for appearing in the "Rush Hour" films with Jackie Chan. It seems at 41 years of age, Tucker has arrived. The all new BET Awards have come of age too. Instead of a single evening celebration, the BET has a new format, a new name and more events and things to do than ever be... Continue Reading...

Neil Patrick Harris Gets the Tony Call Again

October 29, 2015

For the fourth time in the last five years and the third year in a row, multi-talented Neil Patrick Harris will be hosting the Tony Awards. The 67th edition of the show will be aired live on CBS at 8/7c on June 9 at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Harris will also co-produce the show as he did last year with White Cherry Entertainment's Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss. In typical Harris absurdist fashion, he said the show will be 267 times bigger than last year's extravaganza, and that it will rock. VIP Concierge has VIP tickets to the awards show that honors the best in theatrical achievement. The Tony Awards have all the excitement of a live Broadway performance bundled together with the exuberance of an awards show. The awards themselves are loaded with great live performance...
